Charles H. Webb

SALISBURY - Charles H. Webb, 89, of Salisbury, passed away Monday March 4, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 21, 1923, in Rowan County, the son of the late Charles Lee Webb and Anna Rosetta Honbarger Webb.

Charles graduated from Granite Quarry High School and attended North Carolina State University. He worked in Lost Prevention at Liberty Mutual Insurance. He was a veteran of World War II where he received a Purple Heart and was in the 2nd Cavalry.

Charles loved to travel in his motor home and enjoyed singing gospel music. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter Sue Webb and sisters Ann Webb and Alma Webb.

Left to cherish his memories are wife Pauline Webb of Salisbury; daughter Cathy (David) Powell of Raleigh; granddaughter Julia A. Powell; brother Paul Webb (June) of Saginaw, Mich.; and brother Tommy Webb of Salisbury.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 7 at Stallings Baptist Church, The Rhyne Building, 817 S. Main St., Salisbury, NC 28144.

Service: 11 a.m. Friday March 8 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 205 Saint Paul's Church Road, Salisbury, NC 28146, the Rev. David Trexler officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.
