CHINA GROVE - Dorothy Hardin Whitley Ridenhour, of China Grove, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Mrs. Ridenhour was born Nov. 25, in Cliffside, N.C., the daughter of the late Grady Clifford and Mildred Hames Hardin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles White Ridenhour.

Mrs. Ridenhour was a graduate of China Grove High School. She was a manager for Landmark Finance Company and worked in the guidance department at Corriher Lipe Middle School. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ridenhour is survived by sons Davis L. Whitley and wife Jan of China Grove, James R. Whitley Jr. and wife Karen of Landis and Johnny W. Ridenhour and wife Dawn of Salisbury; daughters Kathy W. Watts of Toms River, N.J., and Patti W. Curlee of Kannapolis; brother John K. Hardin of Oviedo, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Service: Funeral services for Mrs. Ridenhour will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 at Central Baptist Church in Kannapolis with Rev. Curtis Parker officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Whitley's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of her son, Davis L. Whitley.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, 1812 Moose Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083; or Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
