Gene E. Gagean

CLEVELAND - Gene Edward Gagean, 72, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 21, 1941, in Connellsville, Pa., the son of the late Joseph and Sara Cole Gagean. Mr. Gagean was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired after 23 years as a coal miner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christal Lee Gagean; brothers Sonny Gagean and Tommy Gagean; sisters Linda Mathis, Dolly Dorner, Pat Vernon and Pearl Gagean.

Those left to cherish his memory are son John Gagean (Lisa Lee Ann) of Cleveland; daughters Teresa Gagean of Cleveland, Linda Gagean Binkley (Shane) of Cleveland and Christine Gagean of Salisbury; sister Quilla Clark of Ohio; grandchildren Christal Binkley, Brittany Gullett, Becky Moore (Nathan), Miranda Blankenship, Shane Binkley Jr., JD Binkley and Trevor Gagean-Dixon; great-grandchildren Edan Binkley, Anna Bella Ingram and Brayton Moore; step-grandchildren Brian, Steven and Josh Hamm; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will hold a private service.
