Hazel Lowder Ewing

KANNAPOLIS - Mrs. Hazel Ruth Lowder Ewing, 93, of East 10th Street, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Mrs. Ewing was born Oct. 26, 1919, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Allen Lowder Sr. and Dora Vetra Williams Lowder. She was a homemaker, always enjoyed everyone coming to visit, travelling and eating out. She always made time to listen to everyone and not make judgments.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie D. Ewing, in 1979; a daughter, Lois Lisk; son David G. Deaton; brother Allen Lowder Jr.; and five sisters, Carol Edwards, Alice Lowder, Naomi Barnette, Geraldine "Jean" Seals and Edna Virginia Lowder Hayes; one grandchild; and three great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ewing is survived by two daughters, Brenda Decker and husband Myles of Mooresville and Joyce Bubacz and husband Frank of Franklin; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Service: A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mr. Myles Decker will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home.
