James 'Jim' Sapp, Jr.
SALIBURY - James Delmer "Jim" Sapp, Jr., 57, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hosipce House.
Born July 8, 1955 in Rowan County, he was the son of Dollie Kesler Sapp Moose and the late James Delmer Sapp, Sr.
Jim was a graduate of Salisbury High School and completed several years of school at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. He worked as a maintenance supervisor with Premtec, which later became New York Air Brake. He was a member of the Elks Lodge
auxiliary, American Legion and a devout volunteer at The Arc of Rowan. Jim was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Salisbury. He enjoyed playing golf, beach trips, along with grilling and cooking.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shela Harvey Sapp, whom he married March 15, 2002; sons, Jason M. Sapp and Gregory L. Sapp of Salisbury; daughters, Shelby Carrion and fiance; Jacob Pace of Salisbury, Erin Carrion of Bay City, Tex.; sister, Kaye Allen and husband Sam of Lexington; step-father, Thomas C. Moose; father-in-law, Robert E. Harvey of Broken Arrow, Okla.
Visitation: Will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Summersett Funeral Home.
Service: Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Summersett Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Nelson officiating.
Memorials: May be made to The Arc of Rowan, 1918 W. Innes St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
