James Edward 'Jim' Bennett, Sr.
SALISBURY - James "Jim" Edward Bennett, Sr., 77, of Salisbury passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Born October 12, 1936, he was the son of the late Willie Mae Baker Bennett and R.C. Bennett.
A veteran of the U.S. Army
, he was stationed in Germany. He retired from Hoechst Celanese, where he worked in the human resources department.
Those left to cherish his memory are wife, Judy Bradford Bennett, whom he married in Dec. 2003; sons, Jimi Bennett (Rosemary) of Atlanta. Ga., Ricky Bennett of Southport; Harry Bennett (Heidi) of Leland; daughters, LuAnn Bennett of Atlanta, Ga., Jamie Shuler (Greg) of Mocksville; brothers, Jerry Bennett (Marlene) of Spencer, Mike Bennett (Paula) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Heidi, Keisha, Collin, Conner, Winter, Brandon and great-grandchildren, Jaylon, Dylan, Avery, Mylan, Ellis, Andrew.
Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines.
Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines with the Rev. Jimi Bennett officiating. Entombment to follow with military rites performed by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.
