James 'Jimmy' Goodnight
SALISBURY - James Leonard "Jimmy" Goodnight, age 60, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Goodnight was born May 4, 1952, in Salisbury, the son of Dorothy "Dot" Cline McNeely of Mooresville and the late Joe Hall Goodnight Sr. He was a graduate of Mooresville High School and worked as a supervisor for Carter Chair Company.
Weekends were spent grilling, camping, boating and fishing with family and friends. He was an avid NASCAR fan and active member of The Old Men's Club.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy McNeely.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Sheila Rowland Goodnight, who he married Jan. 20, 2006; daughters Joey Goodnight Jenkins (Steve) of Salisbury and Amanda Allman (Kevin) of Spencer; sons Dallas Allman (Jamie) of Salisbury and Michael Allman (Ginny) of China Grove; brother Joe Hall Goodnight Jr. of Granite Quarry; sister Vicky McNeely Brawley (Tommy) of Mooresville; grandchildren Kellie, Angie, Briana, Jason, James, Zachary, Steven, Jeremy, Katelyn and Kolby; great-granddaughter Maci; and his special children Max, Gracie and Little Bit of the home.
Visitation: 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Summersett Funeral Home.
Service: 7 p.m. Tuesday at Summersett Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Bill Simpson.
