James 'Jimmy' Killian Sr.

CHINA GROVE - James Albert "Jimmy" Killian, Sr., 57, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 31, 2012, at the Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born in Lincolnton on Jan. 30, 1955, he was a son of the late Marvin Killian Sr. and Margie Farmer Killian. Jimmy had honorably and proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.

A hard working man who could fix anything, Jimmy was a certified ASE mechanic, having worked for several car dealerships. He had also been a refinery inspector for Shell Oil Company.

A loving and devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather, Jimmy will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, a son, George Cleary, preceded him in death.

Surviving family members include his wife, Bonnie Killian; sons Eric J. Cleary (Yvette) of Chalmette, La., and James Killian Jr., (Julie) of Kansas City, Mo.; his daughter, Jamie M. Fuzette of the home; his sisters, Linda Lombardo (Joseph), Rhonda Barton (Howard) and Eva Bachenheimer (Dan); brothers Marvin Killian (Cindy) and Alan Killian (Sandra); grandchildren Eric Joseph Matlock, Aaron Cleary, Evan Bass and Cooper and Amelia Killian.

Service: A memorial graveside service to remember and celebrate Jimmy's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 at the Salisbury National Cemetery (Statesville Boulevard site). Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps and Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard.
