John Hubert Seaford

SALISBURY - John Hubert Seaford, 73, of Salisbury, passed away Dec. 9, 2012, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 4, 1939, in Rowan County, the son of the late John Hub Seaford and Mary Esther Cauble Seaford.

John graduated from Granite Quarry High School in 1958. He earned his BA from Catawba College in 1988 and his Masters of Education from UNC-Charlotte in 1990. He served in the Army Reserves, was mayor of Granite Quarry from 1975-1989, and ran for office in Rowan County elections.

Mr. Seaford was very involved in building projects, taught cabinetmaking at West Rowan High School and worked at the Department of Corrections before retiring in 2000. He was also an active member of Granite Quarry Jaycees and a member of Shiloh Methodist Church in Granite Quarry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Catherine Seaford and Dollie Seaford Doby.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Annie Marie Hudson Seaford; brother Glenn Seaford; sisters Pauline Seaford Britt and Mary Seaford Brenthan; special friend Jim Mills; 13 nieces and nephews; lots of great-nieces and great-nephews; and dogs Spike and Dixie.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 234 S Main St, Granite Quarry, NC 28072.

Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 234 S. Main St., Granite Quarry, NC 28072, with the Rev. Angela Burris officiating with burial in church cemetery.
