Johnny Goal Pickeral
SALISBURY - Mr. Johnny Goal Pickeral, 67, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at his residence.
Born April 16, 1946 in Rowan County, John was the son of the late Dora Mae Baldwin and Randolph Goal Pickeral.
Mr. Pickeral was educated in the Rowan County schools. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam receiving two bronze stars
while in the US Navy. Mr. Pickeral went on to work for Celenese, retiring after 20 years of service and later worked for Salisbury Gardens. He was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Diane Freeman Pickeral, whom he married Aug. 11, 2000; son, Kenneth John Pickeral of Huntersville; daughter, Kym Marie Reynolds (Franky) of Landis; step-sons, Jeff Smith (Michele) and Tim Smith (Jan) of Salisbury; brothers, Mike Pickeral (Juanita) of Salisbury, Charlie Pickeral (Jane) of Matthews; granddaughter, Alexis Nicole Hanger of California; grandsons, Cameron, Chandler, Colby, and Grayson Smith, Nicholas Reynolds and his dog, Pep.
Service: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Summersett Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather at Forest Hills Cemetery in Lexington, at 2 p.m. for burial with military honors.
