Larry Wayne Beattie

SALISBURY - Larry Wayne Beattie, 63, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at his home.

Larry was born April 5, 1949, in Danville, Va., to the late Francis Louise Beattie.

He was a graduate of Boyden High School Class of 1967. He was in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, receiving a Purple Heart with Oak Leaf cluster and a Bronze Star with 'V' for Valor during his time of service.

Larry worked for Brinks Security until his retirement. He enjoyed spending his weekend at Webb Road Flea Market at his booth selling collectibles.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Those left to cherish his memory are son Michael Beattie and wife Sandra of Salisbury; daughter Jennifer Beattie Roberts and husband Jerry Roberts Jr. of Cleveland; son James Beattie of Salisbury; one grandson, Jordan Davenport; brother Joe Beattie; and friend Curtis Foster of Salisbury.

Service: Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Stallings Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Bryan officiating. Burial follows at the U.S. National Cemetery (Statesville Boulevard location).

Visitation: 12-1 p.m. Thursday at the Church.
