SALISBURY - Mrs. Linda Darnell Young Baker, 42, of S. Lee Street passed away Saturday Dec. 22, 2012 at her residence.

She was born Feb. 3, 1970 in Rowan County to Alfred D. Young of Asheville and the late Diane Jones Young.

She was a graduate of T.C. Robinson High School in Asheville and Rowan Cabarrus Community College where she recieved her nursing degree. She was employed with Genesis Eldercare as a Nurse. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Mrs. Baker was preceeded in death by a sister, Doris Philson.

She is survived by her husband, Basil A. Baker of the home; parents, Alfred (Doris) Young of Asheville; son, Tyler Jequale Baker of the home; sisters, Donna (Steve) Davidson of Powder Springs, Ga. and Iris (Johnny) Fox of Salisbury; brothers, Micheal Darity of Jessup, Ga. and Terry Darity of Asheville and host nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 at A.R. Kelsey Memorial Chapel of Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, China Grove. Rev. L.C. Ray, officiating.

Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc. is serving the Baker family.
