WOODLEAF - Mr. Richard James Cooley, 48, of Woodleaf, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

Born Nov. 1, 1964 in Rowan County, to Richard Lee Cooley of Woodleaf and the late Annie Sue Wallace, he attended Woodleaf schools and was a graduate of West Rowan High School. He attended Troy Tech and worked at several electrical companies then retired from Freightliner on disability.

Surviving is his son, Daniel Jake Cooley of Woodleaf; daughter, Meredith Grace Cooley of Salisbury; grandson, Malachi Cooley; brothers, Pressley Ray Sander of Salisbury and Travis Lee Cooley and wife Shelly of Mocksville and sisters, Connie Sue Antosek and husband Pete of Denton and Darlene Harrison and husband Tim of Woodleaf. Special friend, Irene Miller also survives.

Visitation and Services: A visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Summersett Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 at Enon Baptist Church, conducted by Interim Pastor at Enon Baptist Church, Rev. Ken Clark and Rev. Chris Williams. Burial will follow at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.
