KANNAPOLIS - Mr. Robert Stroman, age 92, of Rice Street, passed on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Tucker Hospice House.
Born Dec. 4, 1920, in Springfield, S.C., and raised in Lincolnton, he was the son of the late Ellis and Marie Tyler Stroman.
Educated in the public schools in Lincoln County, he was also a veteran serving during World War II
in the U.S. Army
as a sergeant. He was a member of J.C. Price American Legion Post 107.
Mr. Stroman was a licensed plumber. He spent his early years in the state of New York and after returning to North Carolina in 1970, he worked in textiles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Fannie Stroman.
He is survived by a son, William Stroman (Tina) of Concord; daughter Carolyn Johnson of Oklahoma; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation and Service: Services are Saturday, Jan 5 at the A.R. Kelsey Memorial Chapel of Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc., Salisbury. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. and funeral will follow at 1 p.m. Military Rites and burial will be Monday, Jan 7 11 a.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery.
