Ruby Lesley Shores

SALISBURY - Ruby Lesley Shores, 78, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012.

Mrs. Shores was born April 29, 1934, to the late Robert Clinton Lesley, Sr., and Margaret Russell Lesley. Ruby was a 1952 graduate of Granite Quarry High School and retired from American and Efird.

She was a former member of Southside Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and very active in all church activities. She was a member of Shiloh Reformed Church and a member of the Old Testament Sunday School Class.

She enjoyed outings with her sisters and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubbard Eugene Shores, Jr., who she married Jan. 10, 1954; and daughter Sybil Shores Joyner.

She is survived by her sons, Job Markas Shores and wife "Kim" of Faith and Kelly Lamont Shores and wife "Dawn" of Salisbury; a daughter, Robbin Shores Cope and husband "Tim" of Churchland; brother Robert Clinton Lesley, Jr. and wife "Louise" of Salisbury; sisters Evelyn Evans of Salisbury and Shirley Fisher and husband "David" of Albemarle; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home.

Services: The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 at Shiloh Reformed Church in Faith conducted by Rev. Wayne Trexler, pastor. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens in Rockwell.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh Reformed Church, Mission Fund, P.O. Box 308, Faith, NC 28041.
