Samuel Lee Howard
SALISBURY - Mr. Samuel Lee Howard, 71, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at his residence.
Born Sept. 17, 1941, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Gaynell Leazer Corriher (stepfather Frank Corriher) and Samuel Luther Howard, he was a graduate of West Rowan High School. Mr. Howard worked at Akzo Nobel, formerly National Starch, as a chemical operator for 46 years.
Mr. Howard was a member of Rockwell United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Howard.
Mr. Howard is survived by his wife, Ann Raby Howard, who he married Jan. 2, 1977; a son, Kelly Eugene Howard of Knoxville, Tenn.; and five daughters, Leigh Ann Howard Stubbs and husband Jack of Salisbury, Anita Eagle Reid and husband Eric of Salisbury, Margaret Eagle Moore of Salisbury, Alicia Dawn Howard of Memphis, Tenn., and Allison Denise Howard of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Donna Howard Bostian of Salisbury; eight grandchildren, Jonathon Basinger, Amber Adkins, Justin Basinger, Amanda Clawson, Cierra Stubbs, Keirsten Howard, Kayla Reid and Joseph Basinger; two great-grandchildren: Brycen Burris and Jenson Basinger; a niece, Linda Bostian Hathcock and husband Bruce; nephew Michael Bostian and wife Margaret; and his beloved dogs.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 12-3 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 10) at Summersett Funeral Home.
Service: The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Summersett Memorial Chapel, conducted by Rev. Warren Miller, minister of Rockwell United Methodist Church.
Burial will take place Sunday (Nov. 11) at 1:30 p.m. at Westlawn Memorial Park.
