Ernest Wall Obituary
KNIGHTDALE - Ernest Commodore "E.C." Wall, 84, of 301 N. Smithfield Road, was cradled in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at UNC Hospital.
E.C. was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Wake County to the late Gary Lee Wall and Mary Elizabeth "Mamie" Clark Wall. E.C. trusted Christ as his Savior at 12 years of age. He graduated from Knightdale High School in 1942 and went on to serve his country in the United States Army during World War II.
E.C. met the love of his life, Geraldine "Gerry" Wright, and married her Nov. 4, 1947. For 61 years, they earnestly lived out their pledge of love for each other.
E.C. was the owner and operator of E.C. Wall Plumbing Company for 53 years, where he did plumbing, heating and air conditioning. He was a Sunday School teacher and was very active in the Gideon Bible program where he served for five decades. He also was honored to be on the board of the Raleigh Rescue Mission.
He was a faithful and devoted member of Faith Baptist Church, where he was proud to be a Christian and shared his faith with his family and friends. E.C. will be missed by his family, friends, and especially children who he showed a great love for.
Surviving are his devoted and caring wife, Geraldine "Gerry" Wright Wall; son Neal Crawford Wall of Salisbury; daughters Gerald Diane W. Price and husband Lloyd of Wake Forest, Elizabeth "Libby" W. Stancil and husband Willis of Knightdale; grandchildren Christopher Wall, Paige Wall, Stewart Stancil (Katrina), William Stancil (Paula), Jonathan Stancil (Heather) and Rachel Price; five great-grandchildren; sisters Lawanna W. McLean of Knightdale and Bonnie Wall of Youngsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Wall and sister, Margaret Wall Trent.
Funeral Service: 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Faith Baptist Church, 2728 Marks Creek Road, Knightdale, NC 27545, with Pastor Mick Bowen officiating.
Entombment: Knightdale United Methodist Church Cemetery, 62 First Ave., Knightdale, NC 27545.
Visitation: The Wall Family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 2-2:45 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church and other times at the home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International, Raleigh East Camp, P.O. Box 17373, Raleigh, NC 27619.

Dear Jerri and family, We were so sad to learn of Commodore's passing. We always enjoyed seeing and talking with him. We will miss his jokes and great sense of humor. His ways will be carried on through his children and grandchildren as he instilled the truth in them. Gerry and family, Please accept my heartfelt sympathy in the loss of Commodore. He was always one of my favorites!! I just loved him so much!! I have a dinner on Wed. that I'm cooking for (at church) for the seniors and then a meeting following that...so I will not be able to attend the services. I am so sorry!!! Mr. Wall is my father-in-law. He has set an excellent example for those who know him to follow- faithful in marriage for 61 years; a Gideon- placing Bibles in motels for 5 decades, a board member at the Raleigh Rescue Mission, sunday school teacher and friend. We will miss him down here- but in heaven, he is already rejoicing with his Lord Jesus whom he loved! We that have trusted Jesus Christ as Savior will see him again when out turn comes to leave earth's shores! Psalm 8 is his favorite scripture: O Lord, Our Lord, how excellent is Thy Name in all the earth.....
