Matthew Carleton Obituary
CLEMMONS - Matthew Lee Carleton, 19, died unexpectedly Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Matthew was born Nov. 9, 1988, in Fairfax County, Va. He was the son of Richard and Wanda Carleton.
Matthew graduated from West Forsyth High School in 2007. He was active in baseball, cross country and swimming. Matthew had a great love for the beach and water. He spent most of his summers as a swim coach and life guard. He loved teaching young swimmers. Matt was a gifted athlete and a genius working with computers.
Matthew attended UNCW and planned on entering the U.S. Coast Guard in Oct.
Preceding Matthew in death are his grandfathers, Louis Carleton and C.R. Melton, Jr.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother, Christopher of the home; maternal grandmother, Bobbie Melton of Salisbury; paternal grandmother, Luise Carleton of Winston-Salem; uncles, Mike Carleton and wife Lori of Mt. Holly, Dave Carleton and finance' Angela Church of Clemmons and Joey Melton and wife Jane of Salisbury; cousins, Laura and Dave Melton of Salisbury, Sara, Christopher and Gracie Carleton all of Mt. Holly and Tanner Allen of Hickory. He also leaves behind special friends, Ian Kelly, Joe Yeager, Josh Downs, Seth McVay, Mallory Sutton and many others.
Service: 2 p.m. on Monday at Lewisville United Methodist Church with Reverend Keith Bingham and Reverend Terry Matthews officiating.
Visitation: 6-9 p.m. Sunday at Vogler and Sons, Clemmons Chapel.
Memorials: Lewisville United Methodist Church, 6290 Shallowford Rd., Lewisville, NC 27023.

I can truely say I know what you must be going through...I lost my son on july 25th and God knows it is the hardest thing I have ever had to go through..I was online to visit Brians guestbook and saw your son's obituary..How sad it is to loss a child and something I will never get over..but trust in the Lord and he will make it easier on us...I will add you to my prayers and please do the same for me...Nobody knows what it's like to loss a child, no matter how old they are...God bless you and your family....
