Seth Tinsley Obituary

Seth Anthony Tinsley, 34, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Born July 11, 1981 in Poway, Calif., he was the son of Anthony “Tony” Tinsley and Bonnie Rusher Tinsley. Seth was a graduate of Vance High School and Appalachian State University, Class of 2003. He worked as a dedicated firefighter for the City of Charlotte Fire Department for 11 years, serving at Stations 33 and 18. Seth had a passion for everything outdoors; kayaking, camping, hiking, riding motorcycles and off-roading. He was at home and in his element in ‘the shop' fabricating vehicles and many other creations alongside his Dad and friends. Along with his parents, those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mary Wellford Senn Tinsley, whom he married Oct. 18, 2008; daughters, Clara Tinsley and Rachel Tinsley; sister, Catherine Tuck (Thomas); nephew, Merritt Tuck; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Service and Visitation: Memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with Rev. Robert Black officiating. Inurnment will conclude in the church columbarium. The family will speak to friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. The family would like to give a special thanks to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care, Levine Cancer Institute, and Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University for the loving care they provided to Seth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charlotte Firefighters Fund, 500 Dalton Ave., Charlotte, NC 28206 and St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 131 W. Council St., Salisbury, NC 28144. I still smile every time I think of Seth! I loved his humor and all things he touched to help me. He even helped me to keep from crying the first time I saw him in the wheelchair. I asked, "new ride?" His reply, "when life give you wheels, you roll with it!" We both laughed and went on joking like normal. Sweet family, I know you miss him so much!
