Cheryl Lynne Danboise Smith

SALISBURY - Mrs. Cheryl Lynne Danboise Smith, 37, High Rock Lake, Salisbury, wife of James Arthur Smith, passed away, Thursday morning, April 26, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center Main, Charlotte, after an unexpected illness.

Born in Onondaga County, Syracuse, N.Y., July 21, 1973, Cheryl was the daughter of Romeo Thomas Danboise and the late Arlene Buyea Cappello.

Cheryl had a business degree in accounting and was an employee of Thorlo, Inc of Rockwell, Inc. She was a devoted mother, wife and friend to all. She enjoyed cooking and spending time outdoors. Her family was her passion and all of her friends were her family.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 14 years, James Arthur Smith and three cherished children, Victoria Elizabeth Smith, Savanna Lynne Smith, Talon Cole Smith and the family dog, Duke. She is survived by her father, Romeo Thomas Danboise and step-mother Cheryl Sue Danboise of Winter Garden, Fla.; her sister, Rebecca Cornelius and children William Cornelius, Ivy Cornelius and Stephanie Wheeler; aunts, Debbie Danboise, Nancy Danboise, Karen Kisia; uncle, Danny Buyea; grandmother, Huguette Buyea; aunt, Denise Buyea; uncle, Dan Buyea and his wife Denise and their two daughters Jackie and Danielle; uncle, John Buyea and his wife Anne and son, Ethan, all of Syracuse, N.Y. Cheryl is also survived by Donald and Evelyn Troutman, father and mother-in-law of Salisbury; aunts, Denise Paschall of Elgin, Ky., Donna Sparks and husband Dennis of Versailles, Ky.; Uncle, James Lewis of Elgin, S.C. Also surviving are Wayne and Theresa Smith, father and mother-in-law; step-sisters, Stacy Bigler and husband Clint and Marlene Powell, all of Benton, Ky. along with William and Jill Hickman, father and mother in-law of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; step-sister, Elizabeth M. Hickman-Shepherd and husband William of Hendersonville. Cheryl had numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Cheryl had a "brother-in-life" Martin Hanna, "brother-in-life" Barney Scott Paschall and special friend Cathy Eaton.

Service: A memorial service will be held at Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell Wednesday, May 2 at 4 p.m.

Memorials: Flowers or living arrangements may be sent to Powles Funeral Home. UTTMA Accounts have been set up for the children at State Employees Credit Union. Contributions may be made directly to these accounts in honor of their mother. Include the children's name in the memo line of the contributions: Victoria Elizabeth Smith, Savanna Lynne Smith, Talon Cole Smith.
