SALISBURY - David "Isaac" Burch Jr., 59, of West Franklin Street, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at his residence.
Born March 6, 1954, in Scotland County to the late David Burch Sr. and Blanchie Bridges Burch, he was a graduate of West Columbus High School and Southeastern Community College, where he received a welding degree. A U.S. Army veteran, he received the National Defense Service Medal.
He was last employed with Hefner VA Medical Center in the Housekeeping Dept. He attended Dorsett Chapel United Church of Christ on occasion.
He was preceded in death by brothers J.D. Burch, Weldon Burch, Waddell Burch, David Henry Burch, Thomas Bridges, J.D. Bridges; sisters Shirley Burch McNeil, Eunice Burch and Eloise Burch McWhite.
He is survived by his fiancee and companion, Terri Wiggins of the home; daughters Trimika (Genatus) Cooper, Matthews, Kia Burch (Robert Lee), Chadbourn; son George Nicholson, Chadbourn; sisters Vannie (Charles) Morgan, Supply, Mary Frink, Chadbourn; brothers Billy Bridges, Knoxville, Tenn., John (Sandra) Burch, Whiteville, Earl (Lynn) Burch, St.Paul, N.C., Clarence Burch, New Jersey, Willie Lee (Tootie) Burch, Baltimore, Md.; 11 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Service: Graveside Services with military rites will be held Monday, Oct. 28, at 1 p.m. at the National Cemetery on Statesville Boulevard.
