Delervina P. Templeton

SPENCER - Delervina Parks Templeton, 91, of Spencer, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Mrs. Templeton was born Oct. 28, 1921, to the late Noah Franklin Parks and Margaret Haithcock Parks.

She attended Rowan County schools and worked for many years at McCanless Fabrics until their closing. She then began her own business, "Draperies By Dale" and "Show-Biz Videos."

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leroy Templeton; an infant son, Ricky Templeton; a great-granddaughter, Brittany Nicholson; three brothers, Glenn Parks, John Parks and Emmanuel Parks; and three sisters, Cordie Parks Leazer, Ophelia Parks Hamme, and Janet Parks Reep Powell.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Templeton Spry (Aaron) of Hiddenite, Marlene Templeton Bennett (Jerry) of Granite Quarry and Terri Templeton Teague (Johnny) of Spencer; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Service: Her remains have been entrusted to Lyerly Funeral Home of Salisbury. A graveside service will be held at Rowan Memorial Park on Friday, Jan. 4 at 3 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Jeff Spry.
