SALISBURY - Dolores Allen Swaim, 78, of Salisbury passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at Rowan Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Wednesday, Jan. 17, 1934 in Cabarrus County, to the late Grover Allen and Carrie Bailey.
Dolores graduated from Boyden High School in 1953, attended the Salisbury Business College and after graduating she worked for several local doctors. She retired from the Salisbury City School System where she worked as a food manager. Dolores was also a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents and husband Alfred Allen Swaim who passed away July 7, 2004.
Those left to cherish her memories are son, Tony Swaim (Cindy) of Salisbury; daughter, Tamara "Tam" Morris (John) of Monroe, Ga.; sisters, Rachel Dunn (Jim) of Salisbury and Pat Cling-enpeel (Wink) of Rockville, Md.; grandchildren, Courtney Morris, Kathryn Morris, J.T. Morris, Jordan Swaim and Clay Swaim; and great-grandchild, Caden Morris.
Visitation: Family will receive friends Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012 from 1-6 p.m. at 506 Swaim Court, Salisbury.
Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2012 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury with the Pastor Mike Shoaf officiating.
