Florence Moon Brackett

KANNAPOLIS - Florence Pauline Moon Brackett, 69, of Kannapolis, died at Carolinas Medical Center-University in Charlotte on Nov. 27, 2012.

Pauline was born Jan. 29, 1943, to the late Loyd H. Moon and the late Zuline Gray Moon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Brown.

Known by friends and family as Pauline or Ms. P, and by her grandchildren as GrandMaMa or MawMawMom-Z, she was a lively, compassionate, tech-savy and diva-like character. She was born and raised locally and a graduate of A.L. Brown.

She was individually honored by the McLeod Institute at UNCC as an Unsung Hero, the Bettie Dibrell Practitioner Award, for her dedication, hard work, and love of those in her community.

She was a peppy, loving and honorable woman who will always remain in our hearts.

She is survived by three sons: Todd Gibson (Paula) of Georgia, Mart Gibson (Sharon) of Kannapolis and Chad Gibson (Britney) of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Erica Dawn Gibson of Virginia Beach, Va., Tyler Gibson of Georgia, Austin Gibson and Gabby Gibson, both of Kannapolis; three brothers, L.J.
