SALISBURY - Frances Goodnight Bianchi, began her eternal life on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. She was 89 years old and died peacefully at her home in Salisbury.
Fran was born June 4, 1923, in Salisbury, a daughter of the late Edwin Goodnight and Ellen Cress Goodnight. She was a graduate of China Grove High School and Kings Business College.
She and her husband "B" were married in Charlotte in 1944. He was an Army officer, and Fran and "B" traveled the country and the world. They settled first in Salisbury and then in Alexandria, Va. They moved back to Salisbury in 2001. She was a longtime member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emilio Renaldo Bianchi, on Oct. 18, 2012; daughter Brenda Bianchi Robinson; six brothers; and three sisters.
Those left to cherish her memories are her sons, Michael Bianchi (Linda) of Charlotte and Emilio Bianchi (Ann) of Huntsville, Ala.; daughter Ellen Ferguson (Kevin) of Alexandria, Va.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 12-1 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at John Calvin Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at John Calvin Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Kellie Browne with burial to follow at Thyatira Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
