SALISBURY - Mr. Frank R. Lent III, 66, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at his residence.
Born Nov. 15, 1946, in Queens, N.Y., he was the oldest child of Frank R. Lent Jr. and Paula Lackner Lent. Mr. Lent graduated from West Babylon High and Wilson Technical College in New York.
Mr. Lent moved to Salisbury in 1978, where he worked for Reynolds Metals until his retirement in 2001. He was an avid member of the NRA and Shield A Badge.
Mr. Lent was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Survivors are his high school sweetheart and wife of 44 years, Marguerite Johnson Lent; daughters Michelle Lent and Kristine Blackwell and husband Chris; and four loving grandchildren: Tyler, Chandler, Spencer and Grace Blackwell, all of Salisbury.
A sister, Ginger Osaan and husband Tom of West Babylon, N.Y.; brother Greg Lent and wife Donna of Nesconset, N.Y.; numerous loving nieces and nephews; and his two little "rescue" buddies, Dixie and Ollie also survive him.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Friday (Dec. 28) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father John Putnam will conduct the service. Burial will follow the service at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.
Memorials: May be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 375 Lumen Christie Lane, Salisbury, NC 28147; or Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care, 720 Grove St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
