To all the Leonard Family---Bill was such a kind man. Jason and I got to know him through his Heating and Air business. He was a loyal customer since 2005. We always enjoyed our talks with Bill about anything. He loved his wife Mary and children so much. He loved his time working with the tennis team at Catawba. He spoke of it often. We especially talked of the Living Christmas Tree Cantata he was in every year at Church. He will be greatly missed. We loved Bill. We walked his journey the last year with him. He was a Hero and a fighter always upbeat. I can only imagine what it was like to walk through the pearly gates see Jesus' face and walk the streets of gold. We miss you Bill!

Coach Leonard was a true inspiration during my time at Catawba College 2002-2006. We could always count on seeing him cruise down the hill in his blue work van and then Proceed to oversee our core/abdominal exercises. I remember the first time thinking "no way is this old guy in an all white t-shirt going to out do me", well, he did and continued to over the next 4 years, haha. His love for staying both mentally and physically healthy was truly amazing. The tennis team even gave him the nickname of "He-Man" due to he was in such incredible shape. He showed up everyday to help all of us, regardless of skill level or gender. And come to think of it, I don't believe I ever saw him get mad or angry at anything. Even when I visited Coach beginning of July, he was upbeat and ready to keep "getting after it". To the family, keep your heads held high, Coach Leonard successfully completed his mission - loving and helping everyone! Thanks for all of the memories Coach / He-Man, I wish more people could be like you.

Mary and family: What an honor and a blessing it was to sing God's praises in honor of Bill yesterday! We appreciate so much your inviting us to be a part of the service in such a special way. Bill was such a big part of the choir for many years, and he will be greatly missed. Much love to you, and remember - we'll all see him again one day when we meet our Savior face to face! My God bless you all as you adjust to this loss in the days, weeks, and months to come.

My sincerest condolences to Coach Leonard's family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. He was a very inspirational and endearing coach. He had a way to ignite a fire in an athlete but in a calm and respectful manner. I will forever admire that about him and am grateful to have known him.

To the entire Leonard family, my deepest sympathy. I've known Bill since he was QB at Boyden. We played noon league basketball for many years on the old YMCA floor. I enjoyed classes with his kids when I was a sub at SHS. It hits home when someone your age passes. Bill will be missed.
