LANDIS - Gurline Wilson Beaver, 86, of Landis, a loving mother, devoted wife and grandmother, passed away on Feb. 11, 2014, in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born April 8, 1927, to the late George Jordan and Nellie Wilson. She was the wife of Clyde Junior Beaver who preceded her in death in 2008.
She was a member of Landis Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, GA leader and held the position of chair of the Lois Rutledge Circle for 50 years. She attended Landis High School.
She is survived by daughters Suzzette Flowers (Ronnie) of China Grove, Kathy Nelms (Ron) of China Grove and Cindy Hoell (Chip) of Landis; grandchildren Jeff Flowers (Tiffany), Summer Faw (Chris), Rhonda Weaver (Phillip), Ryan Nelms and Del Wallace; great-grandchildren Austin and Morgan Rayfield and McKinley and Marshal Faw; siblings Jeanette Byerly, Joyce Sloat, Bruce Wilson and Nila Karriker.
She was preceded in death by siblings Clifford Wilson, Selma Baker and Doris Beaver.
She made her home open to anyone who passed through the door, treating everyone as family. She lived her life to serve God, loved her family and grandchildren with all her heart and lived her life as an example for others to follow.
Arrangements: Visitation is Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Landis Baptist Church with funeral at 2 p.m., also at the church, with Revs. Chris Pethel and Richie Honeycutt, ministers. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. All other times the family will be at Mrs. Beaver's home.
