ROCKWELL - Hazel Park Dabbs, 90, of Rockwell, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the Meadows Reitrement Center of Rockwell.
Born Feb. 28, 1922, in Rowan County, Hazel was the daughter of the late Murry Aldolphus and Effie Basinger Park. She was educated at the Park School and retired from Cannon Mills Plant # 1 in 1971.
Hazel was a member of Rockwell United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women, the Rockwell Order of the Eastern Star # 317, and the Rockwell and Salisbury Senior Citizens Club.
In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, Howard James Dabbs on Feb. 3, 2005.
Hazel is survived by her son, H. Wayne Dabbs and wife Frankie of China Grove; grandson, Kenneth W. Dabbs and wife Melinda of Mooresville; great-granddaughters, Erin and Mackenzie Dabbs; and brothers, Marvin Park of Rockwell and Robert Park of Salisbury.
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, the Powles Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Warren Miller, pastor of Rockwell United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow at the Brookhill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
