Helen Ellis Bost

CLEVELAND - Mrs. Helen Ellis Bost, 85, of North Brevard Street, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at her residence.

Born June 24, 1927, in Rowan County to the late Lonnie Henry Ellis and Nora Neal Ellis, she was educated in the public schools of Rowan County. Mrs. Bost retired from Norman's of Salisbury, where she was a seamstress.

A lifelong and dedicated member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Boyden Quarters, she served on the Jubilee choir, Missionaries and Sunday School department. She attended Bible study faithfully until her health failed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.Will Bost; son J. Henry Bost; daughter Maxine Bost Cornelius; grandson William Micheal Scott; and many siblings.

Mrs. Bost is survived by her loving and devoted children: Dorothy (William) Scott, Cleveland, Rev. Joanna Fitzgerald, Charlotte, Larry Bost of the home, Sandra Glaspy, East Spencer, Norman Eddie Bost, Asheville, Cynthia Bost, Salisbury, Elvie Bost, Salisbury, Cathy (Rev. Rodney) Eldridge, Salisbury; two grandchildren reared in the home, Jeffrey Bost of the home, Minister Angela (Merv) Smith, Salisbury; god sister Denise (Joe) Ellis, Salisbury; brother Deacon Leander (Dorothy) Ellis, Salisbury; sister Louise Williams, Salisbury; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Fannie Ellis, Salisbury, Rebecca Moore, Philadelphia, Pa., Ruth Wood, Cleveland, Mary Ruth Bost, Cleveland; brother-in-law Robert Bost, Long Island, N.Y.; daughter-in-law Earlene Bost, Salisbury; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation and Service: Visitation is 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 17 in A.R. Kelsey Memorial Chapel of Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc. with funeral services following at 3 p.m. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Boyden Quarters, with Rev. Rudolph Cornelius officiating and Minister Alice H. Perry, Eulogist.
