Helen Elizabeth Fisher Peacock, 92, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at Novant Health – Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.  Born in Rowan County on May 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Claude Jeremiah Whitehead Fisher and Ella Seamon Fisher. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was the family caregiver. She enjoyed her job working with the public in sales at Friedman's Jewelers. She later retired from working in natural food sales alongside her son-in-law, Don, and daughter, Priscilla, for over 18 years at Simply Good Natural Foods. She had a life-long love of gardening and worked hard growing and preserving food for her family in the early years. Helen was passionate about rock hounding and was a charter member of Salisbury's first rock hounding club. She learned how to refine her “special finds” into jewelry and faceted gemstones. Her love and knowledge of farm animals led her to raising and caring for goats and donkeys up until her death. She was also a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and sang in the church choir for many years. Anyone who knew Helen well would describe her as being “feisty in spirit”. She was always up for an adventure.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Eagle Peacock, who passed away on July 16, 1997; four siblings, Jerry Ell ZumBrunnen, Donald M. Fisher, Carroll J. W. Fisher and Steven Eugene Fisher Sr.; and great-grandchild, Timbre Parris.  Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Roger Caroll Peacock (Hilda); daughters, Donna Peacock Clark (Robert), Kathryn Peacock Kemmerer, Priscilla Peacock Brisson (Donald) and Semone Peacock Brisson (Randy Crowell); 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and former son-in-law, Dale Brisson.  Services: The family will have a drop-in casual Celebration of Life for family, friends and neighbors at 1625 Earnhardt Rd., Salisbury on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018 from 5-9 p.m. Helen always enjoyed sharing meals with family and friends; therefore, Helen's family invites all guests to share in a meal that they are providing during the visiting hours. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father John Eckert officiating. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.  Memorials: Memorial donations may be made to America's Equine Sanctuary (donkey & goat rescue), 270 Old Postal Rd., Denton, NC 27239 or Sacred Heart Catholic Church School Library, 375 Lumen Christi Lane, Salisbury, NC 28147.  Summersett Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Peacock family. Online condolences may be made at www.summersettfuneralhome.com.
