Jack Leroy Zachary

SUNSET BEACH - Jack Leroy Zachary, 88, of Sunset Beach, formerly of Salisbury, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at his home.

Born Feb. 26, 1925, in High Point, a son of the late Lee and Swanee Davis Zachary.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Stella Zachary.

He retired from Picanol Textiles as vice president of sales. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II.

He was a member of DAV, VFW, PGA and truly loved the game of golf.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Marcia Turner Zachary; two sons, Sam Zachary of Faith and Eddie Loflin, of Ocean Isle Beach; four daughters, Susan Harvey of Wadamalaw Island, S.C., Susan Kimmer of Shallotte, Judy Patterson (Joseph) of Salisbury and Paula Beck of Jacksonville, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Seaside United Methodist Church, 1300 Seaside Road S.W., Sunset Beach, NC 28468; or Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
