James William Gilman
GOLD HILL - James William Pryor Gilman, 58, of Gold Hill, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Carolina's Medical Center - Northeast.
He was born Nov. 27, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Caroline Hill Gilman and James Pryor Gilman.
James had worked as a land surveyor for Shulenburger Surveying Company for 20 years. He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, gardener, and pet lover.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memories are daughter, Mary Logan Gilman of Rockwell; brothers, Boyd Hill Gilman of Boston, Mass., Walter Allen Gilman of Winston-Salem, Mark David Gilman of North Myrtle Beach; sister, Lyn Gilman-Garrick of Eugene, Ore.
The family will scatter his ashes at the Calderwood Reservoir in the North Carolina Mountains where he loved to fish.
