Mr. Jesse Lee Mack, 87, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at his residence born in Winnsboro, S.C. Born May 22, 1931, he was the son of the late Lonnie Mack Sr. and Bessie Boyd Mack. He was educated in the public schools of Rowan County. He was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Granite Quarry where he was very active as an usher and was the oldest member of the church. He was a devoted husband and father and had a loyal relationship with God. He was very active on the Obama Democratic Committee where he worked hard for the Obama election. He was an avid fisherman and farmer and loved family gatherings. Mr. Mack was the owner and operator of J.L. Mack Concrete and Cement Finishing Co. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Alan Grubbs and Jonathan Grubbs; sisters, Lois Mack Jackson and Mildred Mack Ellis; brothers, Johnny Mack Sr., William Mack, Lonnie Mack Jr., Milton Mack Sr. and Samuel Mack Sr.; and grandchildren, Vergery Grubbs Jr. and Daris Breon Mack. He leaves precious and loving memories to his wife, Lucille B. Mack of the home; children, Vergery Grubbs Sr. of Los Angeles, Calif., Jarvis Grubbs (Dorothy) of Brooklyn, N.Y., Jocelyn Mack-Boswell of Charlotte, Laurie A. Mack of Redondo Beach, Calif., David Mack of Salisbury, Ellis Vereen of Queens, N.Y., Eleanor Vereen of Queens, N.Y. and Cherulyn Mack-Conta of Salisbury; brothers, James Robert Mack Sr. of New Haven, Conn. and David Lee Mack of Granite Quarry; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Arrangements: Services will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 602 Salisbury Ave., Granite Quarry. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. with funeral at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Granite Quarry with Rev. Ricky Johnson, Pastor, officiating.
