JoAnn B. Anthony

SALISBURY - JoAnn Marie Bristol Anthony, 83, of Salisbury and formerly of Lee's Summitt, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

Born May 8, 1930, in Valentine, Neb., she was the daughter of the late Catherine Bowden "Dolly" Bristol and Glenn Bristol.

She was educated in the Valentine, Neb., schools, graduating from Valentine High School, and attended business college in Denver, Col.

Mrs. Anthony was the Purchasing Agent for the City of Lee's Summit, Mo., the first female department head before retiring.

She was a member of Lee's Summit United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert "Bob" Anthony, on May 7, 1994.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cynthia Anthony of Dallas, Texas, Pamela Theiss-Anthony (David Theiss) of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Cheri Anthony of Salisbury; grandchildren Brad Houx (Tara) of Olathe, Kan., Eric Zimmerman of Los Angeles, Calif., Lisa Zimmerman of Washington, D.C., and Robbie Bergstone of Salisbury; great-grandchildren Ty Houx and Bristol Houx.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday (Dec. 23) at Langsford Funeral Home, 115 W. Third St., Lee's Summit, MO 64063

Service: Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Langsford Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Lee's Summit Cemetery.
