Mr. Joseph Julius “J.J.” Foster, 66, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House. He was born Dec. 25, 1951 in Rowan County, and was the son of the late John O. Foster and Eva Mae Roberts. Mr. Foster was a graduate of East Rowan High School and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a Railroad car inspector. He was a member of Ardis Chapel AME Zion Church, Salisbury where he served as an usher, former superintendant of the sunday school department, trustee, steward, choir member and men's booster ministry. He was the worshipful master of Western Star Lodge # 9, PHA and Holy Royal Arch Masons. In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by son, Joe A. Foster; brothers, Robert Foster and Mike Foster; and sisters, Fannie Foster and Daisy Foster. Mr. Foster leaves precious and loving memories to his devoted and loving wife, Linette Green Foster of the home; daughter, LaTanya Jackson, High Point; grandchild, Mariana Deanna Jackson; brother, John O. Foster (Gwendolyn), Mobile, Ala.; special brother and sister, Carl and Mary Marlin, Salisbury; sisters-in-law, Vanessa Barnes (Jonathan), Kannapolis, Toni Boyd (Derrick), Kannapolis, Wanda Tyson, Richfield, and Ziller Green, Albemarle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Arrangements: Services will be held on Monday, June 18, at Ardis Chapel AME Zion Church, Salisbury, visitation at 1 p.m. and funeral at 2 p.m., burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. R.
