Larry Scott Cobb

LANDIS - Mr. Larry Scott Cobb, 75, of Landis, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at his residence.

The son of the late John Scott and Alma Louise Anderson Cobb, he was born in Iredell County. He was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he majored in accounting. He served in the US Army and was of the Methodist faith.

Mr. Cobb retired from Cannon Mills, having worked in the distribution department. His hobbies included playing golf, fishing and the outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Clawson Cobb, in 2004; and a sister, Sandy Long.

Surviving him are his daughters, Tiea Goodnight (Henry) of China Grove, Sharon Bare (Alan) of Cleveland; son Michael Cobb (Lynne) of Hillsborough; his brother, Scott Cobb of Concord; sister Barbara Bernard of Kannapolis; grandchildren Justin, Jacob and Ellen Waller, Emily Carter, Matthew and Jesse Morgan, Merritt and Harrison Cobb; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation and Service: Visitation will be Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Landis with service following at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Revs. Ken Reed and Kelly Barefoot officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
