Linda File Overcash went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 15, 2018 at The Laurels of Salisbury.    Born Aug. 6, 1943 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Dorothy File.    A loving wife and mother, Linda graciously served her family, church and community with quiet and patient humility.  As a mother, she devoted her time volunteering at her children's schools and supporting their many daily activities.  As a grandmother, she took great pride and joy in her grandchildren. In addition to her family, she loved her dogs, books and traveling.  Linda's love, faithfulness and service to the Lord were an inspiration to all who knew her. She shared a profound gift for music as the church organist at North Hills Presbyterian Church for over 15 years. After North Hills, she served her church and community as a member of First Presbyterian Church.    Despite a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Linda persevered and demonstrated a deep, quiet strength that will resonate with her family and loved ones for years to come.    Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 55 years, Tom Overcash; sister, Sandra Honeycutt (Don); son, Glenn Overcash (Loanna) of Gaithersburg, Md.; daughters, Mary Ellen Kennedy (Tony) of Salisbury, Donna Clements (Runcie) of Franklin, Tenn. and Margaret White (Don) of Greensboro; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.    Services: After a family graveside service, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Friday, May 18 at 12 p.m.  A reception will be held immediately following the service in Lewis Hall.  Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faithful Friends of Salisbury.  The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the skilled staff and caregivers at The Laurels. Although she lived there for a short time, the compassion and support displayed by the staff will never be forgotten.
