Nathan J. Adams

CHINA GROVE - Nathan J. Adams, 80, passed away Friday morning, Oct. 25, 2013, at his residence, following a period of declining health.

Born June 9, 1933 in Rowan County, he was a son of the late George Lee and Ola Mae Belk Adams. A graduate of China Grove High School and Salisbury Business College, he honorably served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Adams was a member of South China Grove Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 0185.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Joe Adams.

Family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years, Peggy Russell Adams; his children, Sabetha Upright and husband Tim of Salisbury, Pam Troutman of Gold Hill and Nathan Scott Adams and wife Kristy of Rockwell; sisters, Sarah Murphy of Waynesville, Judy King and husband Gene of Lexington and Susan Frank and husband Steve of Boone; sister-in-law, Doris Russell; grandchildren, Jonathan Upright and wife Cindy, Christopher Troutman and fiancee Lauren, Anna Perry and husband Eric, Remi and Seeley Adams; great-grandson, Caden Upright; and many nieces and nephews.

Service &Visitation:The family will receive friends Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 from 1-2 p.m. at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Graveside services will begin at 2 p.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. Tony Wagoner.

Memorials:Memorials may be made to South China Grove Baptist Church, P.O. Box 163, China Grove, NC 28023 or to Rowan Hospice, 720 Grove Street, Salisbury, NC 28144.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the VA Hospital and the Home Base Primary Care for the concern, love and excellent care given to Mr. Adams and his family, with a special thank you to Hospice and Belinda Hurbert for her kind, loving friendship and care giving.
