Vernon Lee Hunt, 80, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at his home in Salisbury. He was born Oct. 21, 1937 in Virginia to the late John and Dorothy Hunt. Vernon worked as a truck driver for Swing Transport. He enjoyed playing golf, eating breakfast at East Rowan Cafe with his buddy Walt, playing cards with his friends and family and watching baseball and NASCAR. In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by his wife, Judy McDaniel Hunt and granddaughter, Kandis Gillard. Vernon is survived by his daughters, Angela Hunt Oliver and husband Wayne of Jacksonville, Lora Hunt of Selma and Deanna Loupe and husband Ernest of Lockport, La.; sisters, Jean Hunt Martin and husband Barry of Mebane and Hazel Jackson; grandsons, Dallas Gillard, Matthew Hunt, Anthony Tudor, Noah Dale, Hunter Oliver and Austin Oliver; great-granddaughter, Catelin Gillard; and great-grandson, Cayden Tudor.
