William 'Bill' Carscaddon

SALISBURY - William "Bill" Richard Carscaddon, 88, of Salisbury went to his heavenly home on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 after a short stay at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Winston-Salem.

He was born in Rowan County on Sept. 14, 1924 to the late William Alonzo Carscaddon and Mary Robinson Carscaddon. Bill graduated after the 11th grade from Cleveland School. He was a brick mason by trade until age 76 and a farmer by hobby. Bill was an active member of Salisbury Christian Fellowship.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vesta Kay Laura Boggs Carscaddon in 1979; son, James Richard Carscaddon in 2002; infant brother John Murdock Carscaddon; sisters, Bertie Carscaddon Graham, Dorothy Carscaddon Small and Ruby Casrcaddon Kluttz.

Family members to carry on his memory are his daughter-in-law, Sherri Starnes Carscaddon of Salisbury; grandson, Zachary Richard Carscaddon and wife Nataleigh of Raleigh; granddaughter, Katie Marie Carscaddon of Salisbury; sister, Ruth Carscaddon McDermott of Milford, Ohio; ten nieces and nephews and several cousins.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Salisbury Christian Fellowship.

Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Salisbury Christian Fellowship with the Pastor Jim Howard officiating. Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Summersett Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
