Cora Sue Loflin Bame

BARBER JUNCTION - Cora Sue Loflin Bame, 77, of Barber Junction, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday morning, Jan. 19, 2013 after a sudden illness.

Born Nov. 30, 1935 in Rowan County, she was raised by the late John and Cora Foreman and daughter of the late Grady and Lorene Loflin.

Mrs. Bame graduated from Boyden High School in 1954 and was also a graduate of Salisbury Business College. She was a charter member of the Scotch-Ireland Eastern Star. She was also an active member of Cleveland United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women as well as past president of the UMW, Sunday School teacher and youth leader.

She was a receptionist for many years at Sam's Car Wash, Fiber Industries, MAN Truck and Bus Company and Wackenhut Security. She was also a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting her granddaughters. Her favorite hobby was dog grooming.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, George David Bame.

Survivors include her husband of 571/2 years, James Fleming Bame of Barber Junction; four daughters, Susie McIntyre (Sam) of Salisbury, Lisa Bame (Robert Fraley) of Salisbury, Pam Phillips (Gary) of Barber Junction and Jamie Shore (Mark) of Statesville; two grandsons, Wes McIntyre of Concord and Justin McIntyre of Winston Salem; five granddaughters, Kelly Rodgers (Clint) of Cleveland, Missy Maddix (Sam) of Woodleaf, Megan, Lindsay, and Mackenzie Shore of Statesville; two great-grandchildren, Amie and Brayden Rodgers of Cleveland and special pets, Molly, April and Lucy.

Visitation and Services: Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 22 from 10-11 a.m. with funeral services following at Cleveland United Methodist Church. The Rev. William Wease and Rev. Shirley Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Comm Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144.
