SALISBURY - Mrs. Mildred Morris Axsom, 84, of Salisbury, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at her residence.
Born on Oct. 17, 1929 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Lula Knight Morris. Educated in the Rowan County Schools, she was a lifelong member of South China Grove United Methodist Church. She retired from China Grove Textiles where she worked in the winder room. Mrs. Axsom enjoyed doing puzzles and crosswords.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 65 years, Enos Axsom; sons, Michael Axsom (Pamela) of Charlotte and Larry Axsom of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Brad Axsom (Emily), Matthew Axsom (Robbie), Jonathan Axsom (Crystal), Angela Thompson (John) and Alana Axsom; two step- grandsons, Josh and Joey; great-grandchildren, Connor, Madison, Emory, Brynn, Ayden and Ally; and two step-great-grandchildren, Jayden and Ava.
Services:Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 7 from 1:30-2 p.m. at South China Grove United Methodist Church, with funeral following at 2 p.m. also at the church with Dr. S.B. "Doc" Warner, officiating.
