Elsie P. Lowder

SALISBURY - Elsie Mae Pinkston Lowder, 90, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at her home.

She was born Nov. 5, 1923, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Adam Locke Pinkston and Carrie Graham Pinkston.

Elsie was a 1943 graduate of Mount Ulla High School and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Murray Loy Lowder; twin daughter Ruby Lowder Faggart; granddaughter Charity Ann Lowder Roberts; brothers John W. (Jay) Pinkston, Thomas Locke Pinkston; and sister Miss Ailene Pinkston.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons Benny Ray (Debra Williams) Lowder of Caswell County and Jackie Lee Lowder of the home; daughters Linda Lowder Hartsell of Cleveland and twin daughter Ruth Lowder (Darrell) Goodnight of Salisbury; grandchildren Eric Hartsell, David Hartsell and fiance; Cheryl Ely, Kari Hartsell Ennis and husband Kevin Ennis, John Lowder, Crystal Lowder Horne, Joshua Lowder, Caleb Lowder, Justin Lowder, Jessica Lowder, Jason Lowder and Cameron Lowder; great-grandchildren Allison Brooke Ennis, Ashlee Dey Ennis and Olivia Grace Lowder; sisters Lillie Pinkston Bogle of Salisbury, Martha Pinkston Bogle of Charleston and Hazel Pinkston Cline of China Grove; aunt Lucille Graham Baker; brother-in-law Russell Lowder; sisters-in-law Dorothy Lowder Overcash and Rachel Lowder Fite.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 355 E. Ridge Road, Salisbury, NC 28144 . The family will be at the home of Ruth Goodnight at other times.

Funeral Service: 1 p.m., Saturday, March 1 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 820 Hurley School Road, Salisbury, NC 28144, with Elder Ed Burkett officiating. Burial to follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
