SALISBURY - Lorene Watts Hinson, 87, of Salisbury, went to be with the Lord March 13, 2014, at Genesis Eldercare.
She was born Dec. 30, 1926, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Fairy Mae Wilson and Dock Watts.
Lorene retired from Cannon Mills and was a charter member of Canaan Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Hinson, on June 28, 2005; grandson Jamie Peele on Oct. 28, 2010; great-grandson Austin Dangerfield on Aug. 7, 2002; brothers Ray, Harold, Glenn, Clyde and Jack Watts; and sister Lucy Collett.
Those left to cherish her memory are son Michael B. Hinson (Bonnie) of Stuarts Draft, Va.; daughter Dianne Peele (Walt) of North Myrtle Beach; sons Eddie J. Hinson (Debbie) of Salisbury and Kenneth Hinson (Cindy) of Salisbury; brother Rev. Fred Junior Jenkins (Gerry) of Mt. Ulla; sister Louise Thompson of Kannapolis; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15 at Canaan Baptist Church, 785 Barringer St., Salisbury, NC 28144, with the Rev. Fred Junior Jenkins officiating.
