Jacqueline Petty Arthurs

SALISBURY - Jacqueline "Jackie" Petty Arthurs, age 83, of Salisbury passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Arthurs was born Sept. 25, 1930 in Lowell, the daughter of the daughter of the late Bessie Nicholson Petty and Edward Eugene Petty.

Jackie attended Salisbury Schools. She was a Founder and Charter member of Community Baptist Church, taught Sunday School, sang in the Choir, was over the Youth Group and was active in Making a Difference Senior Group. Jackie worked as a seamstress for Carter Chair, Leisure Lads and Dolly Madison.

Preceding Mrs. Arthurs in death was a daughter, Vickie K. Arthurs on June 20, 2010 and nine siblings.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Harold Watson Arthurs whom she married Sept. 1, 1950; daughters, Judy Arthurs of Salisbury and Joyce Arthurs Loggans pf Chilhowie, Va.; brother, Franklin D. Petty; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 12:30-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Community Baptist Church.

Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Community Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Keith Mason with burial to follow at Rowan Memorial Park.

Memorials: Community Baptist Church, 18 Carolina St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
