Jerome Leak

SPENCER - Jerome Leak, 72, of Forestdale Drive, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born Jan. 4, 1942, in Wallace, S.C., to the late Charlie Leak and Pearletha McNeil Leak, he was educated in the public schools of South Carolina and was a retired truck driver.

A member of Providence AME Zion Church, he was a member of the Men's Choir.

He was preceded in death by brothers Thomas Leak, Charlie Leak, Victor Leak; and sister Joyce Baker.

He leaves to cherish precious memories his wife, Evelyn Sifford Leak of the home; daughter Charavari Leak, Salisbury; sons Theodore Leak, Bronx, N.Y., Thomas Johnson, Rockingham; sister Delores Leak, Bennettsvile, S.C.; brothers Willie McNeil, Wallace, S.C., James Leak, New York, Joe (Kitty) Leak, Texas; three grandchildren; sisters-in-law Libby Sifford, Florence Sifford, Diane Leak, Beatrice (Joe) Hunter, Louise McNeil; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will be at the home on Forestdale Drive the remainder of the time.

Arrangements: Services will be held Sunday, March 23 at Providence AME Zion Church, visitation at 2 p.m. and the funeral at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Zacharias Allen Sr., pastor, officiating. Burial following in church cemetery.
