Linda Luckey Gregory

SALISBURY - Linda Luckey Gregory, 59, of Pine Dr. passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

Born in Rowan County on Dec. 18, 1954 to William Luckey, Sr. of Woodleaf and the late Clara Bell Lassiter Luckey, she was a graduate of West Rowan High School and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and was retired from Kosa Industries of Salisbury.

A devoted member of Cedar Grove AME Zion Church, she served in the following capacities: chairperson of the junior ushers, past president of the senior ushers, praise and worship leader, chairperson of the Cedar Grove AME Zion Church blood drive, Habitat for Hummanity, political action chairperson, voters registration, ecumenical representative, Kitchen Committee, Church Bullentin board coordinator for Cedar Grove AME Zion Church, former Gospel choir member and was the present secretary for the Rowan Salisbury Branch of the NAACP.

She was preceded in death by a brother, James Lassister and a sister, Alline Leach.

Left to cherish loving memories, a loving companion, Floyd Cuthbertson of the home; children, Shawn (Rebecca) Gregory of Salisbury, Sharon (Ryan) Marsh of Spencer and Waverly Gregory of the home; father, William Luckey, Sr. of Woodleaf; sisters, Betty Lou Fortune of Salisbury and Patricia (Vernon) Alexander of Salisbury; brother, William (Sonia) Luckey, Jr. of Suitland, Md.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Arrangements: Services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Cedar Grove AME Zion Church. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. and the funeral at 2 p.m. with the burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Dr. Bertha Pittman, pastor, will officiate.
