LANDIS - Mary Hazeleen "Granny" Correll Price, age 94, of Landis, died April 13, 2014, at her home after an extended period of declining health.
Hazeleen was born Sept. 4, 1919, in Kannapolis, a daughter of the late P.E. and Lucy Eddleman Correll. She was a lifelong area resident and graduated from J.W. Cannon High School and Charlotte Business College. Hazeleen worked for Cannon Mills as a clerk in the Shipping and Billing Dept. for 39 years until retiring in 1981.
She was raised in St. John's United Church of Christ until she married Elby Eugene Price, who was a charter member of Jackson Park United Methodist Church, and transferred her membership there. She was an active member there until her death.
Her life was her family and traveling with her husband after their retirement. Hazeleen enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family and friends. "Granny" was a loving, gentle soul, who inspired many in her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Hazeleen was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Elby Eugene Price; her two sisters, Louise Long and Gladys Fleming; and her son-in-law, David Hill Jr.
