'Mary' Elizabeth Wilson Lowman

SALISBURY - "Mary" Elizabeth Wilson Lowman, 79, of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, Salisbury.

Mary was born Aug. 5, 1934 in Kannapolis, the daughter of the late John Lindsay Wilson and Mary Agnes Rary Wilson.

Mary was educated in the Mt. Ulla Schools, was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church, WMU, and a former Sunday school teacher and nursery attendant. She was a homemaker, loved reading, word search puzzles and listening to Christian radio. Mary loved her children, grandchildren and taking care of children.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Belvin Lowman on June 8, 1983.

Survivors include sons, David Wayne Lowman and wife Jeane of Rockwell and Wallace Lindsay Lowman and wife Judy of Salisbury; daughters, Debbie Lowman of Salisbury, Terri Little and husband Gary of Salisbury and Jerri Johnston and husband Paul of Gold Hill; sisters, Brenda Ward of Mt. Ulla and Elaine Hemmings of Salisbury; nine grandchildren: and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.

Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Eastside Baptist Church, Salisbury, conducted by Rev. Joe Black, pastor. Mrs. Lowman will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the Funeral Service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials: Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care, 720 Grove Street, Salisbury, NC 28144 or to the Rowan County Shrine Club, 6480 Long Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
